Greenbushes Golf Club - 1960 to 2019 ...
In 1959 a group of locals had a dream to build a golf course on the old showgrounds outside Greenbushes.
They raised 400 pounds by selling the jarrah on the premises and used the funds to clear the fairways and build 9 sand greens.
When construction first started, it is doubtful the group realised the amount of work, commitment and funds that were going to be required to keep the club alive.
As the club evolved course layout changes occurred and a new bar and extensions to incorporate a kitchen were established. The biggest change came in the early 1980s when the sand greens were converted to grass.
After all these years the club remains strong and prides itself on low membership fees and low beverage prices, all part of generating a positive enjoyable atmosphere around the club.
Over 60 + years the club has survived due to the dedication and passion of numerous members and volunteers who have and still continue to maintain the course and its facilities.
Greenbushes Golf Club is proud to offer a very happy and social place to enjoy a game of golf.
